I made a prototype straight razor in N690.

One side grind, two blades.

Black paper Micarta scales and some brass screws I had lying around.

I knew that all Spyderco knives had one hole in the blade for thumb opening, and thought to myself, why not two? 🙂

I submitted it to Spyderco with the idea of licencing the design.

They declined.

Fair enough, I say.

It is heavier than a standard razor, and even a bit awkward to hold when you shave, but it worked for me at the time. It felt safer than a standard razor, because of the way the holes “locked” into my hand when shaving.

I put it down to experience, and so it sits in my workshop, a sort of modern art that almost suits a purpose.
